Pir Justice Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari, popularly known as Zia-ul-Ummat, was one of the most prominent Islamic scholars, spiritual guides, and jurists of the 20th century from Pakistan. Judicial Role
He served as a Justice of the Federal Shariat Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan, where he gave verdicts that upheld Islamic principles with fairness and integrity. His scholarly opinions were widely respected and continue to be referenced in legal and religious circles.

Zia-ul-Ummat’s family and students carry forward his legacy with pride. Among his most distinguished disciples is Dr. Pir Syed Lakht-e-Hussain, the current Chairman of Muslim Hands, an international NGO headquartered in the UK. Under his leadership and in the light of Zia-ul-Ummat’s teachings, Muslim Hands is doing tremendous humanitarian work—from education and water to healthcare and relief—in over 30 countries, especially in Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia.

إرثه التعليمي
بدأ بتأسيس مدرسة دينية صغيرة في بهيرة شريف، ثم طورها إلى جامعة ضياء العلوم، وهي اليوم واحدة من أعظم المؤسسات الإسلامية في باكستان، تخرج العلماء والدعاة الذين يخدمون الإسلام في شتى بقاع العالم.
دوره القضائي
شغل منصب قاضي في المحكمة الشرعية الفيدرالية، وكذلك قاضي المحكمة العليا في باكستان، حيث قدم فتاوى شرعية قائمة على العدل والإنصاف، ولا تزال مرجعًا حتى اليوم.
أبناؤه وتلاميذه
أبناء ضياء الأمة وتلاميذه يواصلون المسيرة. من أبرز تلاميذه الدكتور السيد لخت حسين، رئيس منظمة Muslim Hands الخيرية العالمية. تحت قيادته، وبتوجيه من تعاليم ضياء الأمة، تقوم المنظمة بأعمال إنسانية جبارة في مجالات التعليم والصحة والماء والإغاثة في أكثر من ثلاثين دولة، خاصة في إفريقيا وجنوب آسيا.
أثره العالمي
تجاوزت دعوته الحدود، فله أتباع وتلاميذ في أوروبا، بريطانيا، أمريكا، إفريقيا، والشرق الأوسط. أسهم في نشر الاعتدال، والحب، والتصوف الحقيقي. ولا تزال مؤلفاته كـ “ضياء القرآن” و “ضياء النبي” من أروع ما كتب في العصر الحديث.
